Is Wealthy Affiliate Any Good? 7 Key Things To Help You Decide

Is Wealthy Affiliate Any Good?

If you are wondering whether Wealthy Affiliate (WA) is any good, chances are that you are where I was 3 years ago. You are tired of the 9 to 5 grind, an unfulfilling lifestyle and you think that creating an online business is the way to go? Wealthy Affiliate IS good but the question that you should be asking yourself is: Is Wealthy Affiliate any good – for me?

WA offers all the tools, training, resources and support that you need to understand what the online world can offer and build your online business. However, to decide if it is best for you, here are 7 key things to help you decide

1. Is Support Important For You?

In 2019, I decided to leave traditional corporate and dive headfirst into the fascinating world of the internet. Being a trained Programmer and System Analyst, I was convinced that I did not need any help or support and I knew everything that I needed to.

Boy was I wrong!

Working online can be a VERY lonely experience. We are human beings after all and communication and interaction, (even if virtual), is necessary and appreciated.

Sometimes you may need to sort out a problem quickly or get someone’s thoughts about an idea that you have or simply have a chat while you drink a (virtual) cup of coffee.

During these times, you know how much having support – a community – means to you.

What Wealthy Affiliate Offers:

WA has a global community of over 2 million members from all walks of life. Almost every country is represented which means that it is a melting pot of diversity that never sleeps.

Whether I am working at 2 AM or 2 PM, I can connect with someone through Live Chat, by asking a question or posting a blog. The willingness to help you could even be overwhelming if you are not used to asking for help or getting it.

2. What Training Do You Need?

Just because you are on Google and using Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest or YouTube every day it doesn’t mean that you understand what they are and how to use them to make money online.

I didn’t quite get that.

Everything I learned about monetizing my website, YouTube channel, Facebook page, or group, I learned at WA.

In less than a week, I decided to become a Premium Member and seriously invest my time and effort into making a career as a Content & Affiliate Marketer.

What Wealthy Affiliate Offers:

Starting as a free member, (no credit card required), it took me less than a week to do my research within the community and see, close up, what success was possible.

The first 10 free lessons of the Online Entrepreneur Certification (OEC) course had me launching my website by lesson 4 and creating content by lesson 7

The OEC is a comprehensive and detailed course with 50 lessons that walks you through the process of creating and growing an online business in ANY niche you choose.

3. How Much Do You Pay For Hosting?

This is an important aspect that many online solopreneurs and entrepreneurs do not take into consideration. The cost of web hosting can be excessive and limiting.

If you Google ‘cost of web hosting, you will see the range of offerings and prices for hosting your website. Yes, you can easily launch a WordPress (WP) website for free BUT, to be able to scale and monetize you will have additional expenditure.

This can add up and soon you are sinking money into a dream that begins to slide away from you.

Then there are the limitations for email, security, e-commerce, etc.

What Wealthy Affiliate Offers:

You can rest assured that everything you need for safe, efficient and effective web hosting is provided for you with your WA Premium membership.

This includes your SSL certificate, instant DNS setup, site builder and unlimited email accounts – not just 1.

4. Are Your Websites Secure?

You cannot open your online business doors without the confidence of knowing that your business is secure. That is like owning a coffee shop in the middle of New York City, leaving your front doors wide open and not having anyone managing the shop.

Utter madness! Your shop will be bare walls and a floor in seconds.

Spam and cybercrime are real and you must build your inline business with this knowledge at the forefront. A part of this security requirement is knowing that your websites are backed up regularly and your content is kept in a safe place and easily restorable with 24/7 access.

What Wealthy Affiliate Offers:

Because of their intimate knowledge of the intricacies of WordPress and the security vulnerabilities that can occur within the platform, WA is able to prevent hacking or spam before it happens. Several layers of security shield your websites and keep them secure so you never have to worry.

Other support includes enterprise security, BotNet security, daily backups and site health monitoring.

5. Do You Want To Diversify Your Income?

Although I knew this was possible, I thought it would take me years to scale my business or have multiple streams of income. WA has allowed me to achieve multiple streams of income in less than 2 years.

That may sound like a long time but measure this against what it takes to build multiple offline businesses.

Usually, you would have to secure funding, find a location, stock your business, hire employees, (or burn yourself out doing everything), do your own marketing and selling. All of that while knowing that 80% to 90% of businesses fail in their 1st year.

Only after that success (or failure) do you begin to repeat the process.

What Wealthy Affiliate Offers:

At WA I learned everything about creating, managing and growing an online business. As such, I was able to develop a short, medium and long-term business plan.

In under 2 years, I was able to earn consistent 5-digit income from multiple income streams. These include Affiliate commissions, selling websites and domains, training and comments in WA, copywriting, managing SEO, (you will learn about Search Engine Optimization at WA) and advertising.

I currently own 3 profitable websites and will be launching 2 additional websites by the end of this year. (All hosted at WA and included in my Premium Membership fee.)

6. Is 24/7 Technical Support Significant?

I have not needed much technical support because WA’s training, tools and resources are so on point. However, when I do, it is readily available, 24/7.

Very often, before reaching out for technical support, a simple search or ask within the community or Live Chat gets your issue resolved. If that does not work a quick message to the support team and within minutes the resolve process is triggered.

What Wealthy Affiliate Offers:

Site Support is available, 24/7, for members to ask for help with any website problems they may have. It is managed and led by one of the owners of WA, Carson Lim. The function much like the air that you breathe.

You do not appreciate the ease and availability of it until a critical event attempts to cut you off.

Like everything else at WA, Site Support works seamlessly and quietly familiarizes themselves with the members and their online business. This puts you on a first-name basis and ensures confidence in knowing that they understand both you and your business.

Almost every day, Carson pops into the WA community and/or Live Chat making accessibility even easier.

7. What Values And Ethics Appeal To You?

This is very personal for me and an aspect of business that I hold VERY dear and close to my heart.

Whatever I am involved in, especially something as important as business and career, I demand principles, values and ethics that are aligned with my own. The qualities like honesty, your word is your bond, integrity, trust and fairness seem to be hard to find these days.

More so in the world of the internet abyss with almost 5 billion players. Much of what you see and hear does not even exist. You have to be REALLY careful where you place your attention and definitely where you place your business.

What Wealthy Affiliate Offers:

In 2020, WA began an extensive overhaul of the platform and their services. This included the introduction of a new membership stream, Premium Plus.

It offers you the ability to host up to 50 websites, have access to Jaaxy Enterprise for keyword research, over 200 live classes per year, advanced website hosting and security and many other features.

I chose to upgrade to Premium Plus but was concerned that if I wanted to return to Premium membership, I would have to do so at a higher price than what I was already paying.

Not only did Kyle and Carson (the owners of WA) put in writing that I would enjoy the same Premium membership fee if I wanted to return, they extended a few additional months of Premium Plus membership because I paid annually.

This has allowed me to have the freedom of mind and emotions to invest all my energies into building my business.

  1. Hi Again Cassi:

I tried posting this message on the other thread that we originally connected on (the “diamond-in-the-rough” one) – but for some reason, it would not go through – so I’m trying to post it here, instead. 🙂

From your last response there – you know, I just might take you up on this – joining WA (thanks) …

Whenever I recommend “anything” to clients – I always do extensive homework first – which includes my own deep research.

What’s so nice about your website(s) is – you give a great deal of (easy to digest) info & helpful stats – which is SO very much appreciated.

I’m thinking I should “join WA myself” – first – which would then enable me to get an even better feel for this – before recommending it.

When I do “Google” WA – I am seeing a ton of articles out there on it – and many, being quite “negative” … but I guess that IS to be expected – with “any” such Program / System / Business that has been around so long, and that is in so many countries.

I must confess, I am not much of a “technical” – or a “marketing” – person, myself. In fact, had my WIX site ( built “for” me by a very nice guy, in Nigeria – who I found through the Upwork resource. But I’m thinking that WA would perhaps be the perfect “training ground” for those of us who are totally unfamiliar with the whole Affiliate Marketing world.

Enough rambling … just as soon as I finish an assignment I’m on for a client right now – I “will” sign up for WA, through you … which will likely be within the next week. I’m not sure just how “active” I can be, right away, with WA (due to client commitments) – but at least I would be “in the mix” – looking around – getting my feet wet – before endorsing it for others 🙂

Again, many thanks for the all the responses – I’ll connect again shortly.

    Sincerely / Peter A.

    • Hi, Peter.

So very good of you to keep in touch and share your feedback.
You are very right about Wealthy Affiliate, (WA).
There is a lot of excellent feedback and, as with all things, not so good feedback.

There are a few notable points to bear in mind:
      1. WA is NOT a “get-rich-quick” scheme.
      2. It requires you to learn andput in the consistent effort to build your business.
      3. I have been working “online” since 2016, starting as a Copywriter, and I am yet to find a COMPLETE platform such as WA, for the price point.
      4. The NUMBER ONE, priceless aspect of WA is our Community (over 2.5 million members, in almost 200 countries around the world).
      5. It will work FOR you, IF, YOU work it. 🙂

It may not be the most effective community and platform for you BUT you can make that decision after giving it a fair chance – for free.

I look forward to supporting and guiding you so you can extend the same service to your Clients.

      Have a great week!

  2. Hi Cassi:

It was most kind of you to take the time to respond to my (too lengthy) message above – as I’m absolutely sure your schedule must be hectic.

They say that … “speaking the TRUTH – will set you FREE” … and your realistic comments above – they represent exactly this … and with a flavor that’s both inspirational, and motivational. 🙂

I have saved your WA link (thanks) … my plan is to join WA shortly – but to start out as a “Premium” member.

    Here’s to much continued success!

    Sincerely / Peter A.

    • You are most welcome, Peter. 🙂

The learning (and skill development) for creating and building an online business starts at moments like these.
It is always my hope that my Referrals and Coaching Clients remember how we met and what out initial interactiosn were like.

      “Each one, teach one.”

Business is about service to and serving others.
That is even more important when you are working online.
Physical presence is absent and you have to be mindful about how you support others.

Like every other business, it could be ideal for you – or not.
But, the only way to find out is to give it a go.

I am really happy that you are comfortable, engaged and open to trying.

      Please take your time.
      There is no rush.
      Begin when YOU are ready.

      Kind regards,

  3. Hi Cassi:

I hope this finds you and your daughter well, and reasonably cheerful, these days. 🙂

I just signed up for WA (via your link) – as a Premium Member – and I watched Kyle’s Welcome video message.

I think that also entitles me to one FREE Domain Name (URL) that I can use at some time?

Anyway, I’m not sure just how much time I’ll be able to spend at WA for awhile – or just when I can start my trainings.

But hopefully, I’ll at least get to “know my way around” in there a bit.

    Sincerely / Peter A.

    • Hi Peter,

We are both doing very well.

It is so good to welcome you to our WA Community and into my WA Referral Network.

In these early days, you would want to use your time on training and finding your way around the platform.
It can be overwhelming at first, so do not get anxious and feel that you have to rush.

This is a marathon, NOT a sprint. 🙂

Let’s talk more on the inside.

      Thank you!
